After a night of heavy snow the 10 point buck and his doe are awakened by the warm rays of the morning sun. The snow has accumulated a few inches on the backs and heads of the whitetail deer. Their hair is actually hollow in order to serve as a great insulator from the cold snow. Although you might think they are cold, they are, in fact, quite comfortable in this extreme environment. I enjoyed painting this with all the different blues and then introducing the complementary yellows. I do hope you enjoy it.
